Ingredients for the Chicken

  • 250 g boneless chicken, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • ⅓ cup curd (yogurt)
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée (or 1 small tomato, grated/blended)
  • ¼ bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tsp garlic paste
  • ½–1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp grated cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Crushed red chillies, to sprinkle on top

For the White Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour (maida)
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste

Method

1.Marinate The Chicken

Marinate the chicken
  • In a bowl, mix chicken cubes with curd, garlic paste, red chilli powder, cumin powder, oregano, black pepper, and salt.
  • Cover and marinate for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best flavor).

2. Cook The Chicken

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add the chicken along with its marinade.
  • Cover and cook on medium heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring once or twice in between, until the chicken is cooked.
  • Uncover and cook further until the liquid dries up.
  • Add the diced bell pepper and sauté for 1 minute.

3. Prepare The White Sauce

  • In another pan, melt butter and stir in flour. Cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually add milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Season with black pepper, oregano, onion powder, and garlic powder. Cook until smooth and slightly thickened.

4. Assemble & Finish

  • Add the prepared white sauce to the chicken.
  • Top with grated cheese and coriander leaves.
  • Cover and cook for 30 seconds, then turn off the flame.
  • Sprinkle crushed red chillies before serving.

5. Serving Suggestion
Serve hot with butter naan, pita bread, or rice for a comforting Turkish-style meal.
